Brief History:
To date, this 1994 C2 has traveled over 191,500 miles. Along the way it has served as a daily driver, track car, fun family trip car, and pretty much everything and anything else I'd ask of it.
The engine was rebuilt by AASE Motors in March 2024 and now displaces 3.8 liters, with a hotter cam, Steve Wong chip, and a few other hotrod mods. Lowered, the car sports Cup-Car adjustable sway bars, a choice of Regamaster or Cup-One wheels, GT3 fixed back buckets, 5-point harnesses, a DAS roll bar, and LED headlights.
It began around Christmas 1997, my buddy called me up and asked if I’d help him shop for a new car.
The plan was to test drive a BMW Z3 M-Roadster, C5 Corvette, and Boxster. Rusnak Porsche was just a couple of miles down the road so we started there. My buddy fell for and purchased a brand new, loaded, Glacier White Boxster they had on the showroom floor. We never did try the other cars. And we enjoyed a brush with fame — the actor Mark Harmon was at the dealership and helped us install the car’s optional hardtop.
My buddy let me drive his new Boxster that same day and it kind of blew my mind. My wife likes to tell how I returned home that evening, walked in the door and announced, "I hate our car." I then plopped down in front of the computer to surf the then nascent internet, shopping for a Porsche.
Six months later we purchased our Midnight Blue 1994 C2.
