Brief History:
This is an original Southern California car that maintains its original California black plate. Its first owner lived in Highland Park and it made a move to Orange County when its second owners purchased it at a swap meet at Anaheim Stadium in the early ‘80s. It is a Porsche-bodied 5-speed coupe with rare factory special ordered Silver Metallic over black leatherette interior with factory headrests, slotted chrome wheels, fog lights, catacolor glass, rubber on bumper guards, Talbot mirror, and butterfly horn. It still has the original interior (save a radio delete plate in place of the original long missing Becker Europa) and had a high quality repaint in 2007. I purchased this car from patients of mine who were the second owners (from '80s-90's) and were helping a high school classmate (3rd owner) sell it. The second owners have both won the American Great Race and she drove the Bonnie and Clyde car across the country in the '80s. During their time with the 912 they used it for local meets and kept it on the showroom floor of their Goodyear Tire Store. Their current Porsche is an original '73 Carrera RS lightweight. During the last ownership they helped to restore the car including a complete engine rebuild by ANDIAL in 2007 and a high quality repaint in the original factory special ordered silver metallic. The car is nicknamed "Porschie" in our family and has been a great addition with many memorable experiences such as Luft 8 where we got to meet and show our car to Dieter Inzenhofer of ANDIAL and our local PCA Concours where our 9 year-old daughter got to accept its Best in Class trophy.
