Brief History:
This extremely early 1999 996.1 Carrera 2 was purchased from its original owner in stock form. The original owner was a "Checkered Flag" member. The second owner, Evan decided to build a Carrera T that would spend every weekend in the Southern California canyons. The idea was to take the lightest weight and rawest 996 and turn it up to 11 with period correct modifications. Since the US did not receive the GT3 until the 996.2, it was very common for 996.1 Carreras to be modified in this fashion. Fryegg's interior has been modified with 996 GT3 Recaro seats, a center console delete, Momo cup car steering wheel, Ruf pedals, 997 GT3 RS shifter, and a roll cage. The car has BBS E88 wheels which were used on 996 cup cars as well as braking and suspension upgrades. The engine is stock to stay true to the "T" concept but has some reliability modifications such as IMS bearings, a baffled oil sump, and low temp thermostat. Finally, the car has a X-pipe with 200 cell catalytic converters.
