Brief History:
This 1971 914-6 was delivered in Germany in June of 1971, equipped with a factory 110HP 6 cylinder engine, and 5 speed manual gearbox. Originally finished in light ivory (L80E), over black leatherette interior, with perlon cord seat inlays. Options included a retractable antenna & loudspeakers, and rear fog light. In June of 1976 it left Antwerp to the port of Los Angeles, delivered to its owner in Camarillo CA where at some point the car was repainted in its current black color. In 1979 it was sold as a low mile example and under this owner more extensive modifications occurred. It received Porsche factory front and rear flares, composite front and rear lids and bumpers, the wheels were upgraded to 16 x 8 & 9 Fuchs, wrapped with Toyo R888s. A 3.4 liter power-plant was built utilizing Andial performance parts on an aluminum 930 case. A 915 LSD transmission modified with a Vellios conversion was also fitted. The car then received Brembo 993 twin turbo brakes mounted on raised spindle Bilstein coil overs on front, and adjustable Bilstein sport coil overs on the rear. The interior remains mostly original, the seats were replaced with Recaro SPG racing buckets, and 6-point harnesses were installed. A quick release and MoMo steering wheel was added, as was a full roll cage tied to suspension crafted by Aase Motors. With only a few track days under its belt, the car was placed in covered storage for several years. The current owner acquired the car in February of 2021, reviving its still fresh 3.4 motor and continuing updates and personal touches. This -6 is now regularly enjoyed on the track as well as spirted street drives.
